There is a great lesson that took place the morning Jesus Christ rose from the grave. His followers (who weren't doing much following at this point) were sitting around moping because the man they had followed around for the last 3 years had just died on a cross. Even though Jesus had told them this would happen, the visions of Jesus being the Messiah (deliverer or savior) of Israel were more overwhelming in their dreams than his words were to their hearts. Instead of his disciples counting down the seconds to Christ's triumphant resurrection, these guys were trying to put their resumes back together, so they could get the jobs back that they had given up 3 years earlier. Jesus turned out to be a fraud.
Until, out of no where Jesus himself appears to them, leaving them shocked and speechless. Jesus begins a dialogue, which quickly turned into a monologue as everyone sat, too shocked to speak. Luke describes the scene like this in chapter 24 of his gospel...
Luke 24:36-45
36.While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."
37.They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost.
38.He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds?
39.Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself ! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have."
40.When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet.
41.And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?"
42.They gave him a piece of broiled fish,
43.and he took it and ate it in their presence.
44.He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms."
45.Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.
Two things stick out in this passage. 1) God knows your doubts...he knows your heart...and he wants you to know him. He will give you the understanding to know Him, if you humble yourself and allow him. 2) God is not there smacking them around, because they still don't get it, instead, he does something in their life that helps them understand...he eats. He didn't preach a long message on some deep issue. He did exactly what they needed to see that he was who he said he was (and then he gave the sermon). God will meet you at your level...whether your doubting, hurting, loving, living, God knows where you are at and he wants to take the next step with you.
If God has brought you to the point where you believe Jesus Christ was the savior of the world who died on the cross a substitutionary payment for your sins than tell God that. Ask Christ to forgive you for sinning and begin a new life as a follower of Jesus Christ.
